NGUVU HEALTH Inc., April 06, 2022 today announces a new partnership with NiMSA (NIGERIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION) to promote healthy rants to over 75,000 student members of the body.

The rants will span each of the 4 weekends in both April and May and hold on Twitter space. Medical students and personnel are consistently exposed to sensitive images and situations, work and mental burnout, and a need to be up to par at all times. Leading to burnout or emotional deadening.

Hence, the need for ranting. It helps medical students vent, and express themselves and all the bottled emotions and grief associated with the daily life of medical students. Much more, ranting with the help of professionals gives a healthy balance preventing toxicity.

“Beyond the professional responsibilities and activities of members, by shifting focus to the welfare and mental health of members, medical students are able to have an exceptionally sound mind needed for them to be productive in both their academic and personal endeavors,” said Ruyina E. Eteng, NiMSA’s National Technical Officer, Mental Health Advocacy Campaign.

“NiMSA is set to scale up in her work to members of its body and the general public at large. It’s the reason this partnership with Nguvu Health couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Temitayo Matthew, NiMSA’s National Director, Standing Committee on Public Health.

With an exciting thrill, Onuorah Webster Jideofor, NiMSA’s National President said “At the inception of our administration, we made it very clear that we are keen on building partnerships and making alliances for new possibilities. This partnership is a product of the numerous humble steps we have made all along, and we are happy to be doing this for the benefit of our members.” “Nguvu Health is doing amazing in the mental health space already, and with NiMSA now on board, I am very excited about what the future holds for us,” he continued.

Speaking in a corporate meeting about the partnership, Juliet Odumosu, the CMO of Nguvu Health said “We’re thrilled to be partnering with NiMSA as we work to support the mental health of clinical students. From long hours of ward rounds and posting, through emotional deadening, to burnout amongst others, there is an unreasonable standard by which medical students and doctors have been held.” “The wellness of medical personnel directly or indirectly affects patients. The carer also needs to be cared for. Hence, it is important to place great value in supporting initiatives that pertain to the mental health of medical students and personnel.”

The Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA) is the umbrella body of over 75, 000 medical students in over 49 Colleges of Medicine/Medical/Health Sciences across all States of the Federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory. She also represents over 2,000 Nigerians studying Medicine in various parts of the world.
